It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the board and the entire family of Carter Foundation wish to welcome each and every one of you to the annual reunion of the beneficiaries of Carter Foundation with the benefactor, Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu (Okpataozua Nnewi)

Firstly, we are grateful to God Almighty for His love and infinite mercy to us. That we are alive to witness this day as part and parcel of Carter Foundation Family is not by our making but by the Grace of God who apart from keeping us alive, also gave us Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu, the reason for our celebrating today with joy and hope despite the present economic and insecurity situation we have in our country today.

In a special way, the Carter Foundation Family is so thankful to God for the gift of our benefactor, Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu (OkpataOzua Nnewi), a man who allowed God to use him to meet the needs of the needy in our society. We are particularly indebted to him, for not just allowing himself to be used by God to give us hope, but also for creating time to be and celebrate with us. The Bible said that many are called but few are chosen. Indeed, many are blessed with wealth, but few are like Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu in terms of kindness and benevolence. Even fewer are his likes in terms of love for human capital development of the less privileged and downright poor members of human society. Yet fewer still are like him in terms of his humility and availability, and only the likes of Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu and none other. That makes him the ONLY among the biblical chosen few who has acquired not just material wealth but also human wealth and as such heavenly and everlasting wealth. He is the reason for our gathering today.

Indeed, the last day of every year, the 31th of December, is always a remarkable day to this family as it is the day we come together as one family to celebrate our dear benefactor and present to him in absolute appreciation the children cum products of his kindness and generosity. Dear Chief Sir Louis Onwugbenu (OkpataOzua Nnewi), your little thought of love and willingness for charity  have metamorphosed into hope for the hopeless, great future for the less privileged, economic salvation for the poor, dream fulfillment for the smart, intelligent, and skilled individual who but for your Foundation had no hope of achieving their dreams. Your 9 years old product of pure benevolence has grown into a large family with beneficiaries studying in different secondary schools and colleges, and so many studying different courses in different universities across the country. Worthy of note is the fact that many of the beneficiaries are presently employed in different companies in and outside the country.

Sir, permit me, on behalf of the Board, to present to you the beneficiaries of your kindness and generosity, the Carter Foundation Family. We are proud to let you know that your Foundation has a total number of three hundred and twenty – five (325) beneficiaries categorized into: secondary and tertiary levels.

•Secondary level: graduated 97 those still in school 56 total 153

•Tertiary level: graduated 92 those still in school 80 total 172

Henry Ford said and I quote “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is a progress; and working together is a success”. Indeed, a careful look at the organization and structure of your Foundation surely testify that there was a good beginning and of cause a continuous progress; then the smiles on the faces of everyone here, especially the beneficiaries of Carter Foundation are a sure signs of success.

Chief OkpataOzua Nnewi, daalu rinne. Ofoogologondu na aruisike ka anyina-ago n’isi gi n’ezi n’ulo gi niile. Anuritoluato n’udonke obi na nkeimemmuo bu ekpere anyi n’isi gi n’ezi n’ulo gi. Daalu!

  • Long live Chief, Sir Louis Onwugbenu,OkpataOzua Nnewi!
  • Long live Carter Foundation!
  • Shalom and Happy New Year!
