All protocols observed

We are particularly happy to be able to join with thousands of men and women, young and old from all walks of life irrespective of color, race or tribe to celebrate our benefactor Chief Louis IzuchukwuOnwugbenu (Okpataozuora) whose 70th birthday on August 15, 2023, is today being jointly celebrated by the Foundation with the 10th anniversary of Louis Carter Foundation, a channel through which he has been, and is still affecting millions of lives, especially the less privileged.

The 20th anniversary of the consecration and dedication of St. Louis Catholic Church, Uruagu Nnewi, which he built and handed over to the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi is being marked today. Indeed, our 10 years anniversary is worth celebrating a million times as every minute of those 10 years and of course these 70 years of our benefactor’s life is a blessing to anybody around him. Yes, you must agree with me that 10 years of charity, 10 years of touching lives, 10 years of sacrificial love is neither a sentimental nor an emotional feeling but an intelligent act of the will and as such demands celebration. But before I go further, permit to briefly tell you how the whole thing started.

The idea to float the Foundation was drawn from the vast experience he garnered during his extensive business trips which took him to virtually all parts of the world

The Foundation  was officially established on 15th August,  2013 as our benefactor marked his 60thbirthday his birthday gift to our Lady, who  he loves  so much. He established the Board of Trustees with a mandate to take care of the less privileged in the society. His aim was to wipe away tears from the poor.

On inception, the Board members were; Lady J.N Nwangwu – Chairperson, Sir IG Nduka – member, Mrs Monica Chukwuemeka – member, Mrs Patience DomitusEnemchukwu and Mr. E.J Ifediata – members. These gentle men and women were appointed and inaugurated the same day with the mandate to pilot the affairs of the Foundation. As a follow-up, the founder mandated the Board to keep his vision aglow with the hope that soonest the tears and the orgy of penury on the faces of many indigent people milling around would be history. Currently, present the Board has still Lady J.N Nwangwu (Nne-Ejiejemba) as its chairperson and Sir IG Nduka (member), Mrs Monica Chukwuemeka (secretary). Rev. Fr. Charles Udeke, Engr. Emma Ofia (student coordinator) and Mr. Innocent Okoye (member).

Since inception, the number of beneficiaries have continued to increase exponentially. The Foundation is currently funding the scholarships of over 500 beneficiaries including the religious men and women in institutions of higher learning in Nigeria and outside the country’s shores.

At 10years, Louis Carter Foundation is itching for an international standard and recognition for assurance of continuity even when Chief Sir Louis is no more just like its counterpart the Andrew Carnegie Foundation of USA. To this end we at the Foundation (the board members and the beneficiaries) are appealing to friends and well wishes of Chief Sir Louis who share like minds with him to partner with us to make the foundation a permanent home of refuge for the poor for all generations and everlasting source of blessing for all (both for the benefactor and for the beneficiaries). To this, the foundation is in dire need of a permanent site. The location is expected to house the following at completion.

  1. A story building that will house the following;-
  1. A mutil-purpose hall for seminars, scholarship exams and interviews, skill acquisition trainings and workshops etc.
  2. Health centre for free medical treatments.
  3. An ultra-modern e-library for students and teachers research.
  4. A confluence room for board meetings.
  5. Offices and store rooms for official use.
  6. About fifty (50) lap-tops and projectors for computer trainings and other skill trainings.
  • A stand-by generator for powering the foundation house.
  • A bus for transportation of the beneficiaries for out-door trainings and other official uses.

NB: The above listed projects have been estimated to be about N500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million Naira only).

The board are counting on you, friends and well-wishes of our benefactor to make his wish, for an everlasting, foundation a reality by donating generously towards this end.

Ours is a continuous prayer to God to continually bless all who will contribute in one way or the other for the fulfilment of our benefactor’s heart desire.

We revere you our benefactor, we wish to rejoice with you. As God has used you to impact positively on the less privileged people in our society. Your life has been a star guiding many people to the path of good living. You may never know how many couples who are today enjoying their family lives because you have taken away the burden of their children’s school fees from them. You may never know how many of these youths who have been successful in different fields, are filled with gratitude to God just for you. It may equally interest you to know that they are looking up to you as a father, as a model, as a God sent angel. Thank you for being who you are. You are always there in our hearts.
